Little Rocks
The Burntwood Curling Club Little Rock Program allows children from the ages of 6 to 8 years old to experience the sport of curling. The Little Rock Program uses specially designed smaller lighter rocks and closer rings. The young curler learns the basics of sliding, delivery, and sweeping. Each Sunday begins with stretching, a review of curling terms and a previously taught skill and the teaching of a new skill. Usually by the fifth week the young curler is playing a modified curling game. At the end of the program the curler participates in a wind up fun bonspiel.
The Little Rocks program is approximately 10 Sunday afternoons (1:00 to 2:00 pm) starting in October and ending in February. Little Rocks is inexpensive costing only $10.00. The young curler needs clean shoes (which will be taped), hockey or bicycle helmet, curling broom, and gloves or mitts. Interested curlers can register at the BCC Junior table at the Leisure Opportunity Weekend in September, the first day of Little Rocks, or contact...................
Once the club is open look for a Little Rock Poster on the Junior Board and around the club.
